Stop.

Empty yourself of everything, let the mind become still. Ten thousand things rise and fall, while the self watches their return. They grow and flourish and then they return to the source.

Return to the source is Stillness, wich is
the way of Nature.
~Lao Tzu~

Yin Yoga philosophy

Yoga is not just postures.

Especially Yin: Yin is a way of living. Yin is an attitude.

Look inside, look at your consciousness, there’s no need to look for the answers elsewhere, it's all within You.

Yin is the practice of Simplicity. Yin is the practice of conscious non-doing.

In a world that is always running, ask yourself what are you running to?

Do you want to be part of this race, or is there something deeper you are looking for?

Yin Yoga is a simple practice to reconnect with the truth. The truth inside you, inside all of us.

With Yin Yoga we use our body as a vehicle for self (re)discovery, self-healing and transformation.

To understand Yin Yoga you have to go back in time to the mysteries of the ancient philosophy of Daoism. Project yourself to the ancient lands of China, Japan and Korea, where the practices of Daoism were (and still are) part of daily life.

Daoism encompasses every aspect of life. In the mosaic of existence Daoism nurtures simplicity, helps us connect with nature, encourages us to consume mindfully: organic, non-processed, vegetarian foods. With Daoism we find tranquillity, practice minimalism, enjoy slow living, and eventually, still the mind.

If this sounds like something you need, you can start by immersing yourself in Yin Yoga.

Let your journey begin.

A brief history of Yin Yoga

Holding stretches for long periods of time and other techniques closely related to Yin yoga have been practised for centuries in China and Taiwan as part of Daoist Yoga, which is sometimes known as Dao Yin. Taoist priests taught this knowledge, along with breathing techniques, to Kung Fu practitioners around 2000 years ago. That Yin yoga was founded in the 1970s by martial arts expert and Taoist yoga teacher, Paulie Zink, is a common misconception. Paulie Zink didn't invent Yin Yoga, he just spread the knowledge to the "western world" of a practice informed by his martial arts background, which over the years, has been called variously Taoist yoga and Yin and Yang yoga. Moving forward in time, Paul Grilley developed Yin yoga as we know it today, along with Bernie Clark, Sarah Powers and many other amazing teachers around the world.

Yin or Yang?

Yin Yang is the concept of duality forming a whole. We encounter examples of Yin and Yang every day. As examples: night (Yin) and day (Yang), female (Yin) and male (Yang), Stillness (Yin) and movement (Yang). Over thousands of years, quite a bit has been sorted and grouped under various Yin Yang classification systems, way of life and so was Yoga.

The symbol for Yin Yang is called the Taijitu. Most people just call it the yin yang symbol in the west. The taijitu symbol has been found in more than one culture and over the years has come to represent Taoism.
In the symbol, the white half is Yang, representing the day light, the Sun, outward movement, growth, heat, extroverted attitude, masculine energy. The black half is Yin, representing the darkness of nights, the Moon, cold, inward movement, introspection, crearivity, stillness, feminine energy.

Now, knowing a little a bit about the difference between Yin and Yang, how does that relate to Yoga?

About me

About me

My name is Francesca, I was born in Italy but I've left my beautiful motherland when at 22 years old to go chase my dreams and since then I've been living around the world doing my best to live with a purpose.

It was through philosophy and meditation that I began my Yoga journey.

This was accompanied by an actual journey  around the globe beginning in 2008. Eventually, I arrived in India in 2017 to continue my Yoga studies where I completed a 200hr YTTC and stayed on afterwards to volunteer teaching.

I had a strong desire to share what I learnt with others and to keep learning myself. After my wonderful experience in Goa, I decided to continue to travel around India and receive more teachings: I completed my 300 hr YTTC in Mysore, travelled to the Himalayas for 100 hr Meditation YTTC in Dharamsala, then travelled South to Kerala and studied Ayurveda at PVS Ayurvedic Hospital and Academy.

My studies continued in Sri Lanka, and eventually 1 year later I found myself returning to India to develop a Yin Yoga Teacher Training in association with other talented teachers, where I taught for a further 3 years.

Nowadays I am dedicated to sharing what I have learnt and experienced through organizing Yin Yoga Teacher Trainings in India, and I am beginning a new journey to take these teachings around the world.

Love and light,

Francesca

Believe

Your dreams shape your destiny. Since when I was a child, one of my dream was to travel the world, so I did, I built my life around my dream...

Manifest

After roaming around the world for 10 years, I've landed in India, where I've been spending winter in the lush Jungle and shining sea of Goa, and summer in the mystic Himalayas mountains...

Hope

If you want to lead people, walk behind them.

I was always asking myself "how do I know if I'm a good teacher?" i found my answer :" when teaching feels like talking about the story of my life".
